SOBES — The engine for Somali business — everywhere.

Somali Owner Businesses Engine Search

🇺🇸 USA — coast to coast

Portland and Seattle in the Pacific Northwest, Minneapolis and Columbus in the Midwest, Lewiston and New York in the East, San Diego in Southern California — plus London, Mogadishu, and Somali shops online everywhere. Pick a city to browse just its businesses.

Know a Somali-owned business that belongs here? List it — it goes through the same safety screen and review as every listing.

List your business

Three steps. You are in.

1Tell us who you are
2Safety screen runs
3Review, then live

SOBES is for Somali-owned businesses only — anywhere in the world. Real business details are required: your business name, your country, and a way for customers to reach you. No anonymous links. Your listing runs through an AI safety screen and pattern checks, then waits in the review queue — nothing goes live until it's approved. Financial services and remittance are not listed in this version.

🏪 No website? You still belong here.

Selling from a market stall, on the street, from home, or through WhatsApp and your phone alone? List exactly like that — your stall, street, or neighborhood and your phone number are enough. SOBES leaves no Somali seller out.

Website ma lihid? Weli waad ka mid tahay. Ku iibi suuq, waddada dhinaceeda, guriga, ama WhatsApp iyo telefoonkaaga oo keliya — meesha aad joogto iyo lambarkaaga ayaa ku filan. Boodhkani ma dhaafo ganacsade Soomaaliyeed.

SOBES — Somali Owner Businesses Engine Search

      Portland, Oregon · sobesboard.com

Every Somali business owner on one trusted board — the shop with a website and the street seller with only a phone. No Somali left out.

Somali businesses are scattered across group chats and word of mouth, with no single place to be found. I built SOBES — Somali Owner Businesses Engine Search — so owners can be discovered in one place and connect with real names and real details.

“I drive the routes myself, so I know exactly what it costs a small owner when nobody can find you: the phone doesn't ring, and the work goes to whoever showed up in a search.”

📱 What's next: the Network, then the app

SOBES grows in the open. Next comes the owner Network — a safe room where Somali owners find partners, suppliers, and each other — and after that, the SOBES app for iOS and Android. Neither is switched on by a date. They open when the board reaches the traffic gate the founder set:

        50

        Live businesses

Ganacsiyo nool oo boodhka ku jira

        25

        Network posts

        Qoraallo is-xiriir oo nool

        500

        Visits & contact taps

Booqashooyin & taabashooyin xiriir oo la diiwaangeliyay

Every listing, share, and visit moves the board toward the gate. When all three numbers are real, the Network opens and the app build starts — website first, app second, no shortcuts.
